Visual Arts Classroom Procedures

Successful students

  1. Come to class prepared. Bring appropriate media and any works in progress.
  2. Begin work immediately upon entering the room and remain on task the duration of the class period.
  3. Show respect for the teacher and classmates. This includes only entering the teacher’s office with permission and refraining from touching others’ artwork.
  4. Take responsibility for the care of the art studio and supplies. This includes properly cleaning and putting all tools and materials awayat the end of the class period and cleaning your desk before leaving.
  5. Accept responsibility for completing assignments on time, even if this means occasionally taking work home.
  6. Have high expectations for their artwork; re-work assignments to reach the performance level (and grade) desired.
  7. Remember talking and creating art do not mix.
  8. Remain at their seats until dismissed by the instructor because the bell is a reminder to the instructorto dismiss class.
  9. Adhere to the policies presented in the student handbook.
  10. Refrain from working on assignments from other classes; this is NOT a study hall. You will NOT be allowed to make up tests, finish homework or study for another class…No Exceptions!
  11. Consistently CREATE ART…. NOT EXCUSES!
