Senior Timeline 2016-2017

September

Tip: You need to take the ACT and the SAT. Get registered through the Guidance Department. Don't wait until the last testing date to test.

September 1, 2017 - Purchase your yearbook. Cost: 50.00

September 29, 2017 - 8:00 - 9:00:  MHS Auditorium; Announcement presentation; Receive Diploma Listing: Herff Jones will present the packages available for purchase. Announcements are not a required purchase. You will also be able to purchase other senior items such as t-shirts and extra tassels. None of these purchases are required.  These announcements do not guarantee seats at graduation. Do not bring money on this day. You will only be looking at the items available for purchase.

September 29, 2017 - This is the final day to purchase your Senior Ad for the yearbook for $225.00.  The cost will increase until Feb. 28, 2017, at which point you will no longer be able to purchase an ad. ($235.00 from October 1, 2017 - January 1, 2018)($245.00 from January 2,  - Feb. 28)

 

October

October 6, 2017 - 9:00 - 2:00: Order announcements from Herff Jones - Library - See schedule for ordering on the library door. You should bring at least an $90.00 deposit to order the package that you chose on October 4th. Reps will be on campus until lunch. If you are unable to order on this date, you can click here and order online. All Seniors will order Caps and Gowns on this day during their order times.  This is the only required purchase for graduation. The cost is $52.00. This $52.00 does count toward the $80.00 deposit required to purchase additional senior memorabilia.

October 6, 2017  - Diploma listing is due, completed, including parent signature, to Mrs. Gardner. If Diploma Listing is not received by 2:40 on 10/6/17, a late fee of $2.00 shall be assessed.

TBA - Senior Portrait Retakes

TBA - Makeup Day for Herff Jones Announcement Orders - If you were unable to order on October 6, see Mr. Maxwell during lunch to place your order. You must have an $80.00 dollar deposit. You are still able to order online at the above link.

October 27, 2017 - $50.00 Grad Bash Deposit due to Mr. Whitfield. This deposit is non-refundable. The rest of the money may be paid in installments. Payments must be complete on TBA.

Tip: If you are planning to early admit to a four-year university, you need to begin applying during the month of October.

 

November

November 8, 2017 - Senior Day at Chipola from 8:30 - 1:30.  Students must make sure that their notarized permission slips are on file in the office.  All students must have trip specific permission forms filled out and turned in to Ms. Wiggins by October 20 , 2017. All students will ride the bus unless they attend Chipola classes or have OJT. All dual enrollment and OJT students must have a note from parents confirming the need to drive attached to the permission form.

November 29, 2017 - Grad Bash payment due to Mr. Whitfield. ($45.00) 

December

December  8, 2017 - Last day to purchase Senior ads at discounted price, see a yearbook staff member or Mr. Larson.

Tip: You should already be finding and filling out scholarship applications. See Mrs. Wiggins in guidance or visit the Senior info section of the MHS website.

 

January

January 31, 2018 - Grad Bash payment due to Mr. Whitfield ($45.00) Please note that you may pay your balance in full prior to this date.

 

February

February 15, 2018 - Cap & Gown make-up pictures - Auditorium - The photographer will provide caps and gowns for pictures. Portraits will be taken during government and economics classes. You must bring your money on this day to order pictures.  These pictures are by appointment only.  Please contact Todd.larson@jcsb.org to schedule your appointment.

Feb. 28, 2018 - Final Grad Bash payment is due to Mr. Whitfield. ($45.00) Please note that you may pay your balance in full prior to this date.

 

March

March 28, 2018 - Announcements will be delivered - Auditorium - 12:30 - 3:00. Pick-up appointment times will be posted on the library door. April

April 19, 2018 - Caps and Gowns delivered - Caps and gowns will be delivered at 8:30 am in the Auditorium. Pickup time for seniors will be posted on the library door.  Seniors, if you miss your pickup time, you will have to wait until after school on the 20th to pick up your cap and gown.

April 16, 2018 - Grad Bash meeting in the auditorium (2:30 PM)

May

May 9, 2018 - All Seniors will meet in the Auditorium  at 2:45. Seniors will receive prom invites, debt reminders, and other important information about graduation. Please plan to attend.

May 11, 2018 - Final Senior Day

May 12, 2018 - Prom -  Location: MHS Gymnasium  (ONLY MHS Seniors attend free of charge. Seniors planning to attend must register between March 27-April 14.)

 

TBA -  8:00am has been set to determine Senior Class Rankings (Val/Sal/Honor Graduates). It is up to you to complete any make up work and take care of any attendance issues before this date.

May 17, 2018 - Senior Recognition Night: 6:00 P.M. (all Senior awards will be given on this night) Seniors will march in. Seniors will line up to process into the auditorium outside of the library at 5:30 P.M. Mr. Nolen requests that all seniors wear appropriate dressy attire for Senior Recognition Night. All graduates and guests are invited to attend a reception immediately following in the library that is provided by the National Honor Society. While you are strongly encouraged to attend Senior Recognition Night, it is not a requirement to walk at graduation.  

May 17, 2018  Speeches for val and sal should be submitted to Mrs. Law by this date. If you do not turn in your speech by this date, you will not be allowed to give a speech at graduation.

 

May 23, 2018 - Senior Breakfast and Bulldog Signing - 8:00 am - Come and join your class for the senior breakfast and bulldog signing. Feel free to bring a camera and get some final pictures of you and your friends before graduation! Wear your favorite purple and gold.

 

 

Graduation

Graduation Practice: These practice times are MANDATORY. We are giving you advance notice of the dates so that you may make arrangements to be off work. You will not be excused due to work. If you miss a practice and it is unexcused, you will not be able to walk at graduation.  We will practice in the gymnasium and on the field.  If graduation has to be moved off of the field due to inclement weather, it will be held in the MHS gymnasium.  IF it is held in the MHS Gymnasium, you will receive a limited number of tickets for your family.

May 21, 2018 - MHS Gymnasium and Bulldog Stadium: 9:00am - Until (plan for at least 2+ hours) We will begin practice at the field on this day.  Wear sunscreen.

May 22, 2018 - MHS Gymnasium and Bulldog Stadium: 9:00am - Until (plan for at least 2+ hours) We will begin practice at the field on this day, and then move to the gym. Wear sunscreen.

May 23, 2018  - MHS Gymnasium and Bulldog Stadium: 9:00am - Until (plan for at least 2+ hours) We will begin practice in the gym on this day. Wear sunscreen.

Graduation Night at Bulldog Stadium

May 24, 2018 - Seniors should be at Bulldog Stadium at 7:15 PM. Graduation begins at 8:00 PM.

Pictures of each graduate will be taken by professional photographers as he or she receives a diploma. Parents are not allowed on the field to take pictures. The professional pictures may be ordered online. http://www.gradimages.com Go to the link for more info.

 

Attire: Business Dressy: Girls should wear a dress suit or dress with dress shoes. Remember that you are walking on the grass - stilettos are not a good idea. Boys should wear dress pants or dressy khaki pants, a button down shirt with a tie, and dress shoes.

Note: Project Graduation is organized and funded by the parents of the graduating class. Marianna High School does not organize functions related to fundraising or hosting the event.
