Debate

Please see English III Honor's link for debate class plans.

Welcome to debate!

My name is Ms. J (Jessica Puig). I was born and raised in South Florida and moved to Marianna 3 years ago.  I started debate and speech during my sophomore year in high school. I was in debate for three years and competed all three years. I went to Florida Atlantic University and received my bachelor's degree in Communications specializing in Rhetoric, Communications, and Society.

There is a misconception that "debate is arguing."  Really, there are two sides to debate, what I like to call the political side and the literary side.  We will explore both. Please look over the web site and see if debate and public speaking is for you!

Ask me about our debate team!
