Senior Timeline 2010-2011
September
September 30, 2010 Announcement presentation;
Receive Diploma Listing
Herff Jones will present the packages available for
purchase. Announcements are not a required purchase. You will also be able to
purchase other senior items such as t-shirts and extra tassels. None of these
purchases are required. Do not waste a lot of money. I recommend purchasing
only the number of announcements needed to send to family and friends.
These
announcements do not guarantee seats at graduation. Do not bring money on this
day. You will only be looking at the items available for purchase.
Tip: You need to take the ACT and the SAT. Get registered through the Guidance Department. Dont wait until the last testing date to test.
TBA - MHS Senior Scholarship Night: 5:30 - 6:30 pm in the MHS Media Center - If you are wondering how you are going to pay for college, come and take part in this information gathering session. You will learn about Pell Grant opportunities and many other scholarships.

8, 2010 Order announcements from Herff Jones Library See schedule for
ordering on the library door. You should bring at least an $80.00 deposit
to order the package that you chose on Sept. 30.
Reps will be on campus until lunch.

October 8, 2010 - Diploma listing is due, completed, including parent signature, to Mrs. Ellerbee. If Diploma Listing is not received by 2:40 on 10/08/10, a late fee of $2.00 shall be assessed.
October 13, 2010 Senior Day at Chipola from 8:30 1:30. All students must have permission forms filled out, notarized and turned in to Ms. Ellerbee by Oct. 11. All students will ride the bus unless they attend Chipola classes or have OJT through DCT. All dual enrollment and DCT students must have a note from parents confirming the need to drive attached to the permission form.
October 25, 2010 - First opportunity to buy a yearbook. Preserve your memories without all of the work! Cost: $55
October 29, 2010 - Makeup Day for Herff Jones Announcement Orders - If you were unable to order on October 9, see Mr. Maxwell during lunch to place your order. You must have an $80.00 dollar deposit. You are still able to order online at the above link.
Tip: If you are planning to early admit to a four-year university, you need to begin applying during the month of October.
November
TBA - $25.00 Grad Night Deposit due to Mrs. Barber. This deposit is non-refundable. The rest of the money must be paid by Jan. 22.
December 1, 2010 - Discounted Senior yearbook ad deadline. If you order on December 2, you will pay more!
January
TBA - First Semester Exams for all students
TBA - Grad Night balance must be paid by this date. See Mrs. Barber.
February
Feb. 4, 2010 Order Caps and Gowns Library -This is the only required purchase for graduation. Bring $40.00.
Feb. 16, 2010 Announcements will be delivered - Library - 7:45 - 10:10.
Feb. 22, 2011 Deadline for ordering Senior Yearbook Ad. See Mr. Summers. All pictures, writing, and money must be turned in by this date.
March
March 27, 2011 - This is the last day to purchase a yearbook.
April
April 6, 2011 - Cap & Gown pictures The photographer will provide caps and gowns for pictures. Portraits will be taken during government and economics classes. You must bring your money on this day to order pictures.
TBA - Grad Night - Seniors will depart from MHS at 10 am on TBA and will return at approx. 10 am on TBA. Cost - TBA. Students must have a 2.0 GPA and be referral free during the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th nine week periods of the 08/09 school year to attend.
April 28, 2011 - Caps and Gowns delivered Caps and gowns will be delivered at 8:00 am in the Auditorium. Pickup time for seniors with last names beginning with A-L will be 8 - 8:15. Seniors with last names beginning with M-Z will be from 8:15 - 8:30. Seniors, if you miss your pickup time, you will have to wait until after school on the 29th to pick up your cap and gown.

TBA - Prom Location: TBA; Time: 8 pm - midnight
TBA - Baccalaureate Service: MHS Auditorium at 6:00 PM - This program is not affiliated with Marianna High School and it is not required that students participate. Churches from around the area are sponsoring this event for Marianna High School's seniors.
May 18, 2010- The end of this day has been set as the date to determine Senior Class Rankings (Valedictorians/Salutatorians/Honor Graduates). It is up to you to complete any make up work and take care of any attendance issues before this date. You will still continue to receive grades in your classes from May 18th until your last day, May 25th.
May 23, 24, and 25, 2011 Senior Exams: All seniors are required to take all senior exams. There will be no exemptions. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th period exams will be administered on the 23rd. 5th, 6th, and 7th period exams will be administered on the 24th. The first period exam will be given on the 25th. All make-up exams must be taken on the 25th.
May 25, 2011 - All speeches for vals and sals should be submitted to Mrs. Law by this date.
May 26, 2011 - Senior Recognition Night: 6:00 P.M. (all Senior awards will be given on this night ) Seniors march in. Honor graduates and their parents are invited to attend a reception immediately following in the library. We will line up to process into the auditorium outside of the library at 5:30 P.M. Mrs. Neves requests that all seniors wear dressy attire for Senior Recognition Night. While you are strongly encouraged to attend Senior Recognition Night, it is not a requirement to walk at graduation.
Graduation
Graduation Practice: These practice times are MANDATORY. We are giving you advance notice of the dates so that you may make arrangements to be off work. You will not be excused due to work. If you miss a practice and it is unexcused, you will not be able to walk at graduation.
Tuesday, May 31, 2011 Bulldog Stadium: 9:00am - Until (plan for at least 2+ hours)
Wednesday, June 1, 2011 Bulldog Stadium: 9:00 am Until (plan for at least 2+ hours)
Thursday, June 2, 2010 Seniors should be at Bulldog Stadium at 7:15 PM. Graduation begins at 8:00 PM.
Pictures of
each graduate will be taken by professional photographers as he or she receives
a diploma. Parents are not allowed on the field to take pictures.

Attire: Business Dressy: Girls should wear a dress suit or dark dress with dark dress shoes. Hosiery is preferred. Remember that you are walking on the grass stilettos are not a good idea. Boys should wear dark dress pants, a button down shirt with a tie, and dark dress shoes.
Note: Project Graduation is organized and funded by the parents of the graduating class. Marianna High School does not organize functions related to fundraising or hosting the event.
