Classroom Rules In Addition To The Policies In The Student Handbook:

1.  Be on time (in seat when tardy bell rings) and bring required materials in order to participate in class.

2.  Be respectful of yourself, the teacher, your peers, school and personal property.

3.  Accept and encourage one another using appropriate language and actions.

4.  Take responsibility for your own learning (complete assignments on time, seek out extra help when needed, make up missed work).

 

Classroom  Procedures:

1.  Be prepared to learn when class begins. 

2.  Be seated before the tardy bell rings.

3.  Raise your hand to be called on before speaking.

4.  Ask permission to leave your seat.

5.  Only those students who appear to be extremely ill (or with a special medical condition) are allowed to visit the nurse's station or clinic during class.

 

Grading Policy:

50% - Tests, Major Writing Assignments, Projects, Presentations, Portfolios

20% - Minor Writing Assignments, Journal - Notebook,

20% - Outside Reading

10% - Daily Work, Bell Ringer Activities

 

Required Materials:

Journal/Composition Notebook

American Literature Portfolio (3-ring, 2 inch binder and dividers)

Notebook Paper

Blue or Black Ink Pens and Pencils

 

Make-Up Work:

Students are responsible to keep track and complete any and all missed work.
