Policies and Procedures Overview 1. Daily attendance and class participation are expected from every student. An absence is considered to be any time the student is not present in class for a minimum of one half the length of the class period. Class Participation includes quiet listening, note taking, appropriate questions and responses, active participation in cooperative activities, on task activity, timely completion of class and homework assignments. 2. Students are expected to come to class prepared daily. 3. All math assignments must be done in pencil. (Work done in pen will receive a zero! 4. Quizzes will be given at least once a week. 5. At least one test will be given per chapter. 6. Expect homework every night. (Homework may be given on the weekend, too.) 7. Daily homework assignments will be posted on the board, in the assignment notebook and in the homework section of this web site. When the student returns to class he/she should check the notebook and/or the internet web site to see which assignment (s) he/she has missed. Students will be given three days from the day he/she returns to school to make up any missing homework. 8. Each student is required to keep a notebook. 9. When a student has four or more unexcused absences during a nine week grading period, the student will receive a grade of no more than 59/F. (Jackson County Policy) |
