Classroom Policies – Señora Coady Español I/Español II
1. Materials:
3-ring notebook with notes, paper, pencil, pen,
and red pen, journal. (5 points taken from daily grade if not prepared)
Students who are repeatedly unprepared will have
teacher/parent conference
2. Behavior:
Students will follow the guidelines for behavior as written
the student handbook. Students will show respect for everyone in class. No
student may stay in class if behavior interferes with learning. No student
may stay in class if repeatedly unprepared for class.
3. New School
Policy:
Guidelines for Tardies and Attendance as written in the
student handbook.
4. Grades:
Tests and projects count twice..
Daily grades, quizzes, vocabulary tests and routine grades
count once.
Semester Exams will count 1/5 of your Semester grade
5. Journal:
Students will write in their journal every day for the first
5 minutes of class
…you will lose 5 points for the day if you are not in your
seat and writing in your journal when the bell rings.
… you will receive a 0 for the day’s entry if you do not have your journal.
… turn in journals every Friday. (If absent on Friday, journals are due the day
you return)
…you are responsible for getting journal entries before class if you are absent.
6. Make up:
Students have 3 days to arrange for make-up work (for excused absence)
Students will take announced tests even if absent the day before.
Students going on a school trip must make up work before they leave and be
prepared for class the next day.
All assigned and announced work will be on time.
It is the student’s responsibility to find out about make-up work.
Make –up days for tests/quizzes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, before and after
school.

All journals will be turned in on Fridays whether or not you were absent the day before... Prepare your journal before class on Fridays.
